Lower radiator hose guard

Anyone ever fabricate a lower hose guard? I was thinking a sheet of Stainless of aluminum, mounted with nut-zerts into the chassis so that it can be removed, and curved to protect the lower radiator hose as it drops under the lower shock mount? This is my project for the weekend, pictures to follow.

Using a State of the Art CAD system (Cardboard Aided Design) I fabricated a hose guard. Next step metal

The aluminum is starting to take shape. I am still shaping, mostly over my knee and a little on the bench vise (sorry, no sheet metal brake in my shop"
I will attach with bolts and Nut-zerts so that I can remove it quickly.

I used 1/16th aluminum (had it on hand) but could have used thinner. The curve of the cover makes it very strong.
Still have more shaping to do to reach the final form and function, but happy so far.

Doesn't hurt I guess. But two counterpoints: The truck's ride height is more than other builds (e.g. Roadster and Coupe) so the risk is less. Plus assuming you're mounting the radiator and grille in the stock manner, hangs way below the lower radiator hose. You'd hit that first, which wouldn't be good.

Thanks Edward, I was just thinking about that piece of road debris that is flipped up by a front tire, maybe I should look at a more solid lower hose like Cool Tubes.
