Russ Thompson turn signal dissasembly
I'm finishing wiring and just realised that the right turn signal on the Russ Thompson turn signal has poor connection and does not work. If i wiggle the stalk which does have quite a lot of play i can get it to work, so i think there is an issue with the contacts inside. The left signal works perfectly fine.
Anyone has taken one apart and can share some tips on what to do or more importantly what not to do? I have no idea what i'm doing, so any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

there is a light duty snap ring that holds the whole thing together. Just carefully remove then lift the 2 pieces apart. The issue should be very visible. Its a very simple switch.

Thank you for the replies - I will try to see what is up with it.

Just a follow up:
It is a very simple design and easy to disassemble as per both comments above. I took it apart, cleaned the contacts which were a bit dirty and now it works perfectly fine.

Does anyone know which VW turn signal Russ was using to manufacture these?

I'm going from memory here so check to be sure. I believe Russ was using Type 1 & Type 2 VW turn signal switches commonly found in Beatles and Karmen Ghia's. https://www.jbugs.com/product/141953...EaAmNwEALw_wcB
Would you like me to remove your name from our waiting list?

Thanks Frank,
Nope, Please leave me ON the list! I bought 3 seats for the Coupe before I settled on what I wanted..... The "spare parts bin" and "I didn't know how much I liked this until I had my hands on it" parts take up a nice bit of space in my shop!
