    Texas Registration Inspection - Wipers

This seems to be the biggest inconvenience in regards to getting the "Assembled Vehicle" approval before registration. I know quite a few people install wipers, but I don't want to. I can't see a scenario where I actually would need wipers in an open top car that would be driven during leisure time.

How has everyone dealt with this? How many have passed muster with a clamp-on style wiper? Technically, does the code says it has to have "a windshield wiper" or "...wipers"?

I had a clamp on manual wiper when I took mine to the guy in Austin while driving with no top but didn't even install it and he never even asked about it.

I had the same thing - a non-functional wiper that was never looked at or discussed. I find it hard to believe it was even noticed because they didn’t look at anything.. except the vin. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

For my Coupe, i had the same guys do the inspection that RoadRacer used in Austin, same outcome. they never asked or even tried them. Mine are functional but they never checked. its really depends on the shop
