Rebostar's sunny day beauty pics plus DMV saga.
As promised here are the sunny day bueauty pics of the finished Roadster while at the DMV.
Speaking of the DMV.....I call the state DMV office to get the inside skinny from the head shed. I sometimes take issue with counter beuracrats who's sole aim is in gaurding their rice bowl rather that helping you out. However todays visit went very smoothly. I had a new Oregon VIN# in 10 minutes. The registration was a bit dicey though. In Oregon they have "special" plates for cars older than 25 years. They have a one time fee then they're good forever. All three of my classic hot rods have them. At first she did not want to give them to me because the car was "manufactured" in 2024 even though it was a 1965 "replica". I told her it would be impossible to pass DEQ with an engine from the 60's. She got my point and issued the "special" plates. So a half hour from walking in the door I had my VIN, title, registration and plates all for $234.
Heres the pic's enjoy!

Hi Allyn,
Pics look great. Have been waiting to see this colour in the sun. It doesn't disappoint.
Maybe it's that angle of the photos, is it possible that the bumperettes are on the wrong ends of the car? Rear bumperettes look angled instead of vertical.
Hope you get some miles on the clock before the weather sets in.
Cheers,
Nige

Thanks for the kudo's Nige. My cell camera really does not do it justice. Its way better with eyeballs! On the rear bumperett's. I drilled the threads out so the 1/2" threads-all would slide throught the origonal holes and I have nuts on each side of the bumperette mount plates to lock them in place. So they are adjustable. I set them up to match the curve of the rear end rather that straight up and down.

The above pic's were taken with my cell phone. I also brought my digital camera and took a few. Not sure which is better, but niether of them really bring out the pearl in the paint like the naked eye.
So here's the set with the digital camera:

Glad to see it all went well at the MVA. Some states are good at that and others a nightmare. I feel so bad for our California brothers who deal with the bureaucracy. It just doesn't have to be that bad. Car looks beautiful outside in the sun.

I’ve really enjoyed following along the build thread. Congrats on the DMV win. Seems like a roll of the dice in many states.
Looking forward to your coupe build!

Love Pics! Congrats on registration.
That was a much shorter DMV 'SAGA' than I expected, which is a good thing. After seeing some of the Florida stories lately I was prepared for a much harrowing adventure at the DMV.

Not a waxer
Looks absolutely fantastic Allyn! And I stand by my opinion that stripes would have added nothing
Enjoy!

Looks beautiful. Glad to hear Oregon DMV is cooperative. I had a Vermont registration and title on a vehicle that I transferred to Oregon sometime back. I went in with all my documentation and they were a little dumbfounded. They finally went a got an oversized book that looked like something out of Harry Potter and got it figured out so all was well that ended well.
I'll be going through this with my Coupe in a year or two so thanks for keeping them on their toes!

Car looks absolutely amazing Allyn! My kind of Cobra, pushrod V8, candy paint, and some bling hahaha
Glad all went well at the DMV, when I sailed through my registration process at our local DMV I sure had a little spring in my step walking out! Such a great feeling.
Now go drive and have some fun!

Outstanding! Love the paint and the entire build. I hope to have as smooth a visit to the DMV here in Washington as you've had in Oregon. Sadly, I think that may not happen.
