    Single side pipe Resonator

I have BBK headers and am using the single 3 in. side pipes. They are extremely loud and would like to add resonators to the side pipes? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

I've been researching this a bit. They make auger style inserts for the side pipes. Maybe check out this link as a starter: https://www.ffcars.com/threads/flexi...90847/#replies

I purchased custom mufflers from chamfered exhaust and welded them in.

Let me start by saying this fix isn’t for everybody. First I have just plain painted side pipes with solid stainless heat shields. What I did to quiet them down a little is picked up some under car header turn downs and glass pack inserts that slip inside them. Don’t remember exact dimensions but believe the inserts are 10 or 12 in long. The the turn downs are sized to slip over and clamp to the outlet pipe of the side pipes after the turn out is cut off. This basically adds a resonator and allows for the turn out to be positioned so it’s not pointing straight out but anywhere from there to straight down. I put mine at about a 45 which also helps slightly more with the noise in the cockpit. In my case the heat shields cover the clamp so it can’t be seen. This set up is also a little longer so puts the outlet back close to the rear fender which I suppose might add to the lessening of noise another slight bit. I did this mod quite sometime ago so don’t now what’s available these days for materials so you’d need to measure check suppliers.
