    3000 Mile Body off Update

    Howdy folks!
Here’s a 3000 mile body-off update on my Daytona coupe. I apologize in advance for the rambling redneck that narrates the video!

Nice update. Lots of great information and progress with your build. Thanks for the shout out. Glad my ramblings (and of course others) have been helpful. That's what the forum is for, right? Now you're paying it back too. Nice. One observation I had. I've never seen the GPS antenna mounted on its side like that. Generally the instructions for those kind of antennas are to be flat (the magnetic side down) with the widest possible view of the sky as possible. Hard to argue if you're at 3,000 miles and it's working OK. But thought I would mention it.

Thanks again for maintaining such detailed build threads. I know that I and many others have benefited greatly from this "addendum" to the FFR build manual. Fact of the matter is that it is probably the other way around! Now that I have started a build thread for my Mk3 I truly appreciate the work that goes into maintaining a build thread. It's a bit clunky with the way that photos get uploaded and added to the thread. The forum is a great resource and worth the effort.

Regarding the GPS antenna, I previously had it on the 2x tube in front of the dash and it would take a few minutes to acquire signal. I thought I would try moving it away from the firewall, etc for a possible improvement. I have not had a chance to test it in the new location. You make a valid point regarding the flat orientation. Stay tuned for an update once I'm back on the road!
