Suggestions on a durable, brushable black paint for my rear end?
My vote is for POR15.

Here's an alternative: Rustoleum engine paint. I used that on my IRS center section. Since many people call that part the "pumpkin", I painted mine orange. Since I painted it prior to installation, I sprayed it on. I needed something a bit whimsical. The paint is going strong after 5 years on the road.
Mk IV Roadster - #8650 - delivered 7-17-2015 - first start 7-28-2018 - first go-kart 10-13-2018 - licensed and on the road 9-9-19: body/paint completed 3-17-2020.
Complete kit / 2015 Coyote / TKO600 / IRS / Wilwood brakes / Mid-Shift mod / Power Steering / Heater and Seat Heaters / RT turn signal / Breeze radiator shroud and mount
I find POR primer has good impact resistance and brushes out without brush marks. It is slow cure. On cast surfaces and machined edges, the primer fish-eyes and pulls away from the sharp edges. That requires a recoat, usually after the primer sets, and before it is completely cured. PIA

I use Amor Coat. Shines better than rust o leum and brush strokes level out. Also readily available at Canadian Tire and way cheaper than POR15.

ANY black paint you find. Nothing special needed
Mrk III, 331 stroker, Borla stack injection, T5, 3:55 IRS, Power steering and brakes. Kleiner body & paint
Rustileum has worked well for me.

Another vote for Rustoleum. I used the satin black to paint the k-member, front a-arms, rear end, and other small parts on a foxbody Mustang I built over 20 years ago. Those components still look good today...
Rustoleum Self Etching primer and Rustoleum Appliance Epoxy (in spite of the name it is a standard rattle can 1 part paint that matches FFR frame powder coat well).
FFR MkII, 408W, Tremec TKO 500, 2015 IRS, DA QA1s, Forte front bar, APE hardtop.
I wire-wheeled the hell out of my 8.8 axle, then put down Rustoleum primer, then satin black Rustoleum.

I love the smell of 100 octane in the morning.
NITTO NT01 275X40X17ZR - 315X35ZRX17
Delivered 2/7/14 - Plate "COYOTE NC1965" 3/25/15
Ended up with powder coat.
Locally having sprayed in a good quality epoxy was same price as my buddies pc shop. So I opted for pc. Over the years I haven’t had real good luck with rattle can paint from a longevity standpoint and given all the work put into this, wanted something that would last.
I think it turned out pretty good for a rebuild. Boxed the banana bracket. Fab’d a copy of the VPM 3 link brace. All new guts with an 31-spline upgrade. Even found a home for my lateral braces I had kicking around for years

I am a fan of Rustoleum Farm implement paints. Loads of solids in them and cure nice and hard!
FFR 5136 Started as a donor...donor guages, engine, trans,etc. Now...TFS street intake,stage 1 cam, GT40p's,24# injectors and 80mm MAF,70mm TB,Z-spec t-5, and PSE Halibrand wrapped with Nitto 555 G2’s. My ever evolving dream car!!
Have you happened to use it on the fiberglass inners?
The OB of my car left much of the inners red. Looks kinda janky.
My local PPG rep suggested that “farm” as an alternative to higher quality paints. I know many guys go the bed liner route but for several reasons, I won’t be going that route.
Rustoleum also makes a "hammer finish" paint in several colors. The hammer finish is great on cast surfaces and has a hard durable finish without brush marks. It works well on frames, transmissions, and any other cast part.

boxing the banana bracket was a good move. I folded mine up at the dragstrip with a second gear launch...
