I have never even seen a 428 in person but I would guess that the heads and a couple of items on the engine would be worth that. If it is complete, that could be a fun project. If you can spin the crank and inspect the block, that would be good. You might have a real find! Of course if it ran, that would be to good to be true. Let us know what happens. Thanks, WEK.
Note: Not sure if it has the FE or FT versions like the 427.

FFR MkIII 302 (ATK), EFI 75mm TB with custom box plenum chamber, 24# injectors, 4 tube BBK ceramic, cold air sys, alum flywheel, crane roller rockers, T5, Wilwood pedals, custom five link with Watt's link, 4 rotors, coil overs, power steering with Heidt valve, alum FFR rad, driver's crash bar mod, mini dead pedal mod, quick release steering wheel hub #6046
What Bill said; big difference between the two and in their fair market value price. 428 is an FE and 429 is a 385 series.

I haven't heard back from the guy yet but it's a FE replacement block non gt heads , s intake, oil pan and spacer play standard bore
Spacer plate sorry auto correct
If its a 428 FE for $650, it's a great deal. Perfect for a period correct engine in a Cobra
That's what I was wondering
Okay so it's not a 428 it's a 390 with the third webbing in the block. Can I turn that into a 428
