I installed one on the driver's side just to get me past the vehicle inspection (the inspector never even looked to see if it worked). I used a single speed unit from Speedway Motors and installed it through the windshield flange (requires drilling a hole in the windshield) so that when I removed it I just replaced it with a 3/8" SS button head screw. Hardly noticeable now, more stealthy than a shaft sticking through the roof above the windshield.
However, if you need permanent functional wipers there are much better options and you'll want one on each side. But if you think you're going to be driving in the rain you will have lots of other issues to resolve too. These cars are not very weather tight.
Haven't seen them in person but I have this earmarked for my build, a bit pricey but Dr. Ruth's stuff works well I'm told...

I'm putting a pair of these in since I need to cover 80% of the windshield with wipers, these two make it close enough to it.

I bought this one from Speedway. I only need it to pass inspection.
I doubt I'll ever drive the 33 in the rain. We only get 12" of rain a year.

I bought Dan Ruth's set up. Very easy to install and even works in the rain. I'm sure you can buy the same base kit cheaper, but he has it all configured for the FFR33. However I ended up not using the mounting bracket because I switch between hardtop and roadster and didn't want to mount it with the windshield fasteners.
