Shifter cables

I was noticing that one of my shifter cables appears to not reach the shifter. Anyone else have this issue and how did you route them? Also the bracket that goes on the tranny seems to put the cables in a position of binding. How could that be that far off? The bracket itself seems to be designed in such a way that the angles are done on purpose but they don't work.

I tweaked the brackets for a better angle with a big adj wrench. From shifter, through grommets and firewall, around and looped through under the control arms, along the coolant pipes, through the frame over the left edge of the fuel tank, next to frame and to the bracket on the transaxle

I noticed the same thing. Cable the controls rotation is rather tight. It also bends outward at an angle. The push pull cable had plenty of slack but was angled in at an odd angle.

I guess what I was saying about the bracket is that if they don't line up perfectly without the lines kinked then why is it designed the way it is. The triangle is not a 90 degrees but it could be and maybe it should be considering how much I have to bend it. The one on the top could also be set up different to keep the cable coming in more on a straight line vs at a 10-15 degree angle. Just wondering. They say to adjust it to keep it from binding in the manual but I would imagine it could be a lot closer than this. I've already bent the top one quite a bit (enough to crack the powdercoat) and bent the bottom one a bit and it's still a little off. This is my first cable shifter and I'd like to have them coming in perfectly straight if possible. Wondering if I should just design my own bracket?

The side entry one (top of photo) just needs to be bent farther (by FFR). I can't remember if the parallel entry one has a welded brace there or not. It should be bent farther too. If their machine is limited to 90 deg hard stop on a bend, then it will bend to 90 and then the material will relax a certain amount.
