    gas pedal panel?

hi there, i was just about to mount my gas pedal (06 dbw) and in the manual it talks about an odd piece of aluminum that it gets bolted to. does this piece exist anymore? i thought i saw something like it when doing my initial inventory, but tore my garage apart looking for it, but cant find anything. i also looked through the build threads, and havent seen a lot of pedal shots to get this info. is this piece critical? or is everyone just bolting it to the firewall/frame? or should i be looking into making my own since i cant find the one in the manual? thanks

Some folks just bolt to the firewall (I think Wayne recommends this).

C.Plavan has also dealt with it in his build thread. You can see his final result in his post #159. I think he had pre-pics of what he was struggling with earlier in his thread.

I bent my bracket (06 donor)to make it fit to my preferred height.

You should also add a stop behind the pedal so you don't break it off.
