First step getting the car on the road

    image.jpg
I have a trailer, landscape trailer. I got it on, just, I wouldn't recommend it. I finally got to the weigh station to get the weight certificate. It took me too long to get the car off and by the time I got it to the check in station I was 15 min late. They closed. So I drove it back to the trailer and put it back on. I get to drive it tomorrow too! I got rained on! No biggie. I dried it off. A person with a very nice Porsche was behind me. I was going slow. Thought he was going to pass but when I turned the corner to the weigh station he stopped to see what was on the trailer.

I got the information packet from Albany yesterday. I'm filling that out. I've got a few questions for them. The bullet style lights in the front and rear are viewable from the side so I'm wondering if I need side marker lights/ reflectors. I got the weight certificate today. It came in at 2120 lbs. I'm confused on the motor year. I don't see a casting #. It has a plate from Ford Racing that says remanufactured 2013.

When I spoke to Mark at the state tech services, he said to put the motor down as the year it was meant to replicate. So for me I am listing as 1965. This way it only needs to match the emissions for that year. BTW I am running 347, PCV only.

It's been 4 weeks so I thought I should call the DMV to make sure they got my paperwork and 25$ check. I didn't see the check cashed so I was a bit concerned. Called technical, they said it was all good and then called field inspection. They said I should have an appointment soon.

It's really killing me to see it sit there! Any suggestions on a shrine that I can chant to that will make things go faster? I've tried burning insence around the car.

Decided to get the NYS inspection and alignment done Friday. Field inspection Monday. I'll Fax the field inspection doc as soon as the investigation is done, camp out by the mail box until technical services sends back signed documents to take to the local DMV to have it registered. I got a quote for insurance. I thought it was going to be high. It's Actually quite low.

Hey, Pretty soon the DMV will be a distant image in your rear view mirror. Once you get that registration certificate, run like he** and drive it like you stole it!

    Good luck and safe driving,

No. They didn't. They just put it up and made sure there were no stolen parts. I got the complete kit and the motor and tranny from Fortes so it's basically all new parts. I worried for nothing. Walk in the door, put the appointment letter in the box, wait to be called. Drive the car in on the ramps so they can lift it up. Wait outside while the check it out and do the paperwork. Get called back in so they can explain the rest of the procedure to you so you can get it on the road. I actually made one mistake. I put my dog license renewal letter in the box where I was supposed to put my appointment letter.

Got the paperwork from the DMV. Went to the inspection. Choose transfer, option 3 on the screen, fill in the questions. The inspection sticker is on the car! I just got insurance. 111.00 for 6 months. By noon tomorrow I will go for a ride!
