Okay, so the "manufactured patina" look has been all the rage in the rat rod scene for quite a few years and it often gets a bad rap. But, I've never seen it done on a Cobra replica and thought it just may be fun to show up at the track with something a bit irreverent. Although my current project has focused on period-correct looks, sometimes it seems a bit too shiny.

What better antithesis to 7074 than to build a track-only beater - something that looks like an unrestored original that was ridden hard in the '60s and put away wet for forty years - something along the lines of how CSX 3047 (one of the original 427 S/C cars) looks these days.





I'm going to let this "barn-find build" idea simmer in the back of my mind for a while as I finish 7074. More to come, so watch this space!
