    LS3 motor mounts

I am putting a LS3 in a 33 Hot Rod and I'm having trouble getting the motor mounts to line up.

Does anyone have a good and clear picture of how they should mount.

    Thanks for the help, Larry

    Larry,
Do you have the LS mount instructions from FFR? I followed those and had no issues.
I did have to pull the tailshaft about 2-3" over towards the drivers side to line up the trans mount. I mounted the triangular plates to the motor first - loosely. I then dropped the motor in and loosely mounted the plates to the frame. Motor was slightly twisted towards pass side. I then pried the tail shaft over and secured that and then proceeded to tighten all front mounts.
    Good luck.

I am helping a friend build this car. I am using the motor mounts that came with the kit. But, I don't have any instructions on how to mount them. Attached is a picture of the parts I am working with. The mounts are Energy Suspension #1108.

I am wondering if I need the use that 3 hole backing plate. Which way does the mount go on. Also one of the bolts on the mount hits the block when it is attached, and that doesn't look right.

Thanks Silent T for your reply, by the way, do you have a build blog.

    You're missing the instructions sheet.
The 3-hole backing plate is not used.
The mount is bolted to 4 hole plate and then bolted to the engine.
Have him call FFR - they can e-mail the instructions.

Thanks Silent T. I sent an E-mail to FFR tech asking for the instructions. I will have to wait until Monday to get them.

I got the motor mount instructions and got the motor and trans in. Now it looks like the drive line is to long. Good Lord, it's one thing after another.

    Thanks T for your help

    What transmission are you using?
How long is it? - If only a 1/2" or so you may be able to shim motor slightly forward.
You should be able to exchange drivshaft with FFR, although shipping those is never easy. Pack it with lots of cushion - one slght tap in the wrong place can set it off balance.
