On the internet, I have seem installations in non-818 kits where they used the MR2 shifter. You can go straight back with the cables by mounting them to the upper side of the pivot.

So I will need new cables to run an MR2 shifter? Im thinking of ordering the K-Tuned shifter that FFR offers.
