Zoom! Factory Five ’33 Gets Ford Racing 3.5L EcoBoost Six

David Chick and the crew at RodAuthority.com have just posted a great article on the Factory Five ’33 Hot Rod built by Ford Racing and Watson Engineering powered by Ford’s AWESOME 365 HP V6 EcoBoost engine!

“We’ve worked with Factory Five for several years, in particular on their Cobra kit cars,” Ford Racing’s Andrew Casselberry said. “It was very popular for customers to want to use one of our pushrod or Coyote engines, but we thought we’d try offering the EcoBoost line too, just to see what kind of engagement they got."

Ford reports that the engine controls, computer, and harness will be available early this year (2015), and Factory Five customers are anxious to take advantage of this engine package.

“For customers that want the ease of installation combined with reliability and get-up-and-go, the prime choice has now become Factory Five, the world’s largest manufacturer of build-it-yourself component cars, hot rods, and customs. The company’s 1933 Ford coupe brought about much-needed innovation to the hot rod market, utilizing aluminum body panels, a full tube chassis, and made-in-house parts that all came together in one big package to minimize the end user’s legwork.” – David Chick, Rod Authority

The entire team at Factory Five Racing is excited and proud to work with Ford Racing and use their great crate engines. We are currently building a Type 65 Coupe (Daytona Coupe replica) with this turbocharged 6-cylinder engine.

I just got a 2015 MKC Lincoln has the 2.0 Eco Boost. No rocket ship but does OK. I just hope the gas mileage goes up after it losens up a bit. If not happy at 36 months just turn it in, I leased it.
