    Post Battery Cables

I want to make longer battery cables. What is the wire gauge of the long red battery cable that comes with the 818 kit?

Should be 4AWG. You don't want smaller for that cable and the battery ground.

Welding cable from a welding equipment store is great as it is super flexible and tough.

I just have never worked with such a large wire so I really had no concept of what I needed. I'm going to get 2AWG from delcity: http://www.delcity.net/store/search/...201+++&x=0&y=0

Delcity also has a great supply of battery cable clamps, solder slugs, sleeving, etc. Pretty unique stuff you won't find just anywhere, and makes a great custom battery cable. I used these to make up the main power cables for my Roadster build. Worked great. http://www.delcity.net/store/Fusion-...inals/p_804068

That what I got! I'll be making the cables myself since it looks very easy with the solder slugs and Fusion terminals.

Another option is to buy another short section and connect them with a power shut-off switch.
I bought a Hella power shut off which solved my short wire problem and gives me the ability to shut off power to the starter when I leave the car unnattended or parked.
