The left and right fenders are redesigned as is the front grill insert.

The 818 Coupe was introduced at the 2015 Factory Five Racing Open House.

The 818 Coupe design is the third on the 818 platform.

Love the new additions. I especially like the headlights. Details for retrofitting to harness built for production run 818 headlights? Also would love to see some pictures of headlight output at night.

Are the new front fenders wider? They look a touch wider than the original fenders.

I like the long headlights. Much more modern. Any straight on shots?

Dare I say I like the old, non Darth Vader bumper better? The rest of the coupe looks really freaking good.

I like the fenders, lights, and brake vent. Undecided on center portion.

I noticed it has the STI 6 speed as well.

I like the coupe, but I'm not sure if I like the front end all that much over the old one. I like some aspects. It does look like they increased the area so outside of the tires do not rub the lip (maybe wider/higher). Tires rubbing are a constant issue on my car at their stated ride height and wheel ET.

One of the elephants in the room will be how hot the drivers compartment gets.

I like the new design. Especially headlights. ....but I was really hoping for something to have been done about the seam between the front fender and door. Look at a GTR or Subaru WRX. The side vents could have been functional. And a sidemarker/turn signal is a must.

Actually, this new design has no visible turn signal from the side of the car. Is that allowed?

    YES!

I see some influence from Vman's design updates:

    vEnF1tp.png

I really want to know the official word on the weight penaly for the coupe over the roadster. And has the new shape been wind tunnel tested? It seems like it would have a lower COD.

I am not feeling the new front end but love the hard top! Might order that as an upgrade.
The front end does look like it will be easier to assemble. Keep up the good work F5!

It looks like F5 has done a great job in addressing the complexity of assembling the front end. This should help in the frustrations builders are having putting the front end together.

I think the new front looks really nice, the lines seem smoother and less busy. Having a homage to the GTR isn't bad either

Looking at it more, there are things I really like about both the old and the new front ends. I'm kind of 50/50 on which I like.

The front of the car is much nicer... The coupe's lines are very really nice, very balanced looking. Im guessing its going to be an incredible seller.

The coupe is very nice, hats off to FFR! Haven't decided on the front yet. Since I'm a long way away from putting the body on, I'll hold that as another option I can choose at a later date. I'm a big believer that the world needs more 2 seat roadsters so I'm sticking with that, but very interested in how the AC get solved.

Wow the whole thing looks amazing and much more super car looking IMO than the old front end. I'm highly tempted to buy the front end but keep it as a roadster, for now. Great job FFR!

I think they really knocked it out of the park on this one.
I liked the 818 before but the front end was way to tame for the car, and looked dated right from the start. The Camry lights never really looked right. The top in stylin' too.
If I wasn't building a coupe already this would be high on my list.

But I am also happy with what I have, I want to drive it before I even think about any more changes.

Many kudos for the effort to update and improve this design. Sorry to say, it really isn't successful from a visual standpoint. On the other hand, a coupe option is a very good thing.

Sorry. Removeable as in the entire top. No targa option/design. Changing from a roadster to a hard top is going to be about 3x more time-consuming than with the 33 hot rod. There is an inner cockpit bulkhead and window that separates the driver from engine compartment. Still, I can see this as a change-over twice a year for those wanting to use both set-ups (roadster in warmer months and coupe in colder months or vice versa in warm climates!).

A quote from Dave in another thread.

Factory did a marvelous job on the design! It gives a "massivier" look to the front end and the front feels less squashed, the car looks more like a one-of and very special car.

One flaw, just one to me, the headlight buckets don't seem to include integrated side markers, which makes them non-legal for Canada, so you have to add side markers somewhere by yourself, which is what I'll have to do.

Are these lights designed just for the 818 or they come from an OEM car?
Are there LEDs in the headlights? Halos?

So... now what do I do with my old fenders, bumper, OEM Camry headlights and aftermarket Spyder Camry headlights?

I wonder how people get the GTM registered then. The front buckets seem to be a modified version of the GTMs lights. If those can get passed then the 818 should be doable.

Well I made a slight mistake, I mentioned Canada but actually I should have said Provinces. Rules depend on State/Province/Country, in Quebec Province they are clear that you need front/rear side markers, but what do they actually do when you get the car inspected? Maybe they let it go. I could probably check with the rare ones who built and registered a GTM in QC, or those with a MK4, I know one.

All in all, I need that front end. It looks easier to fit too, as the bumper is part of the fenders and then there's an insert in the middle. I guess it uses the same front carbon fibre splitter. Can't wait to the individual parts prices and how the headlights light up.

I would have thought the three globes on this side could be used as indicators? Here in Australia we would have the same requirements. Have they released the 818C kit price yet?
