Yes the 818 is eligible for the sb100. Check out Matteo92065's build thread

I've done 2 roadsters via SB100 for myself and my brother. You will declare the "body style" category, NOT the engine year category. I declared via body style, stating it's a 1965 replica, so 1965 emissions requirements were used. More to your situation - if you declare via body style and the body doesn't resemble any other vehicle, the year 1960 is used for emissions purposes. So you will need a closed PCV system, but that's it. No cats required (if EFI) and no smog check.

Yup it's eligible. Matteo did it so did I and a few other people on the forum. Just call Sacramento and see how many sb100 numbers are still available.
Brando had his R registered in CA- He has since sold it though.
Thanks- Chad

Glad you'll be going for it... welcome to the madness! I also did my due diligence with respect to researching SB100 before pulling the trigger; seeing that GTM's had been granted 1960 SMOG status put my mind at ease, and I ditched the Cat, TGV's, EVAP, etc... As posted several 818's have now been registered under SB100. My build is slow, so I'm not sure when I'll get my SPCNS#, probably wait til 2017 .
Congrats! How long was it between CHP inspection and when you got your sequence number in the mail? I'm waiting for mine now so I can schedule the BAR inspection.
Big congrats!
I hope to get to that point in the coming year... 'Guess I'd better get busy!
Yes congratulations! Don't be a stranger to the forum hope to see you at Huntington Beach next year.
Does anyone know how much it cost to go through the process?I found that it is $120 for the brake and lamp inspection in my area. I was not able to find out how much the smog ref inspections cost nor the CHP inspection.
Also, how did they figure out how much sales tax to charge you? Can anyone help please? I would greatly appreciate it, as this is factoring into whether or not I purchased the car, this weekend.
