Yes sir!
That's a really nice job you did there.
Wow! I'm headed out to the garage to do more wet sanding & polishing! I'll try doing it harder to get that metallic finish.

Nice work!!!! Be sure to clean up all excess compound, esp in cracks. Otherwise you'll never get it off once it bakes on.
Looks awesome, fantastic work.

A well stocked beverage fridge is the key to any successful project.
Is that "5" on the food and the rear from Factory Five?

actually I added small 5's to the left and right fenders today, these are not from factory five. I bought a finished sheet of carbon fiber for all my interior parts and the left over I hand cut 5s and center caps for my wheels.
Awesome work!! The car looks fantastic!
Wow
Really nice! I'll have to come by to see it. Did you have a chance to fit in the trunk kit?
no trunk yet, that will probably be a winter project as well as front splitter, side rocker extentions (alumilite and carbon fiber wrap) bump steer work, I was away for work the last 4 weeks and I leave again Sunday till close to Christmas.
Nice work, Lumpy. I, especially, like the exhaust system. How many hours do you have in the cut and polish?
Thanks,
WEK.

How did you fit that exhaust in there with the shifter linkage?
it was not that hard, I mounted the muffler so there is a 3/4 in gap when the shifter was out at its outer stroke. I think I might put a strip of heat tape along the edge of the body close to where the muffler is. I have let it run a lot and it doe snot seem to get to hot.
cut and polish was not to bad, there are a few spots that are a bit deep d needed to wet sand a bit deeper but I did not want to go thru the clear. so you do see a few spots but its only a 1400 dollar paint job with 4 coats of clear so I am not expecting it to be perfect. I had probably 8-10 hrs of wet sanding and 6-8 hrs of compound and polishing. Of course I have never done it before.
nice work

mine is the cyber gray metallic from the Corvette line and yes it looks great just watch for tiger stripping with the metallic. my paint job was done by a buddy on the cheap so a few bad spots I can live with. if it was a high end paint job I would have made him re do a few panels.
Lots of hard work, looks good!
Looks amazing! I'm new to the form and just over Lin Lo don. Would love to come check it out sometime if you had time. I'll PM you about that.
Cheers,
I had a 69 vette back in 1975. The factory blue was scuffed by the time I got the car. Painted it "Steel City Gray" - looked darn close to your color. Always liked this color and it sure looks perfect on your 818. Nice job.
Brings back a memory. "Friend" painted it over at his dad's garage. Called me after a few days and said "it looks good, but I can't get the car to start". I ended up learning how and replacing the 427's cam chain - jumped time pretty bad. Judging by the rubber globs on the newly painted rear wheel wells, it was starting pretty good for him before it quit. I'd bet the chain didn't like it when he slid his foot sideways off the clutch.... (:
By the time that car moved on, I'd learned how to fix about anything that could go wrong on a car (at least it seemed like it at the time).
