How many of you...
...forgot or didn't know you need to remove the output shaft race from the tail-housing when you do the 2WD conversion?

That bad boy has been bouncing around back there for 500+ miles.
It's a slip fit into the bore that's above the main shaft, so if you didn't remove it, it's probably fallen out and loose.

I've done that, but luckily realized it before I installed the trans.

I made sure to do it on the new trans
I should have known better with all the times I've had a 5MT apart but I never even thought of it until I pulled the block off plate off. Always freaked me out a bit how loose those are "pressed in" from the factory.

I did not see anything in the instruction manual about this. I am right at this point, thanks a million for this information.
