fairly new here and was wondering what the difference was between the mark 3 and the 3.1?
I think the primary reason for the .1 designation was to introduce the Complete Kit. There were some running changes/revisions but nothing especially groundbreaking; a few of the more significant ones that come to mind are a revision to the upper part of the driver's footbox to allow use of the Wilwood pedal assembly, fiberglass rather than aluminum trunk lid liner, different LeMans cap, different steering shaft, Konis rather than Bilsteins and I'm sure other more minor items.

When the MK3.1 model was first announced, this is the list that FFR released as to the revisions/upgrades. And as Jeff mentions the first complete kit became available. Some of the items listed were optional, for the base kit, or were considered accessories.
"Once again we have gone back to the engineering table to sharpen the blade of our best-selling roadster. This time out we kept the base chassis the same (hence the revision name Mk3.1 rather than Mk4) and focused more on improving existing parts, trim, and accessories, as well as designing all-new parts/assemblies.
We are proud of these many improvements, and proud of our company’s continued commitment to the simple charter of “every day doing something better”.
