    Gelcoat Summer is over, time for paint.

    From friday night to 2 am saturday morning getting the white base on. Saturday to layout the stripes and get it ready for base and clearcoat. Got to bed about 2 am Sunday. Back up sunday about 7 to see if it went back into gelcoat over night. B17 Daytona blue and Ford white. Yeah I'm pooped.

    Marathon is the word! I seemed to have plenty of energy doing al that but tonight I'm pretty much out of it. At least I can go back to work monday and rest up on the clock.... My real job has a more realistic expectation of my efforts.

    Oooo the bodywork happened over a much longer period. The panels were trimmed back when I first got it legal and started the Gelcoat Road tests. I also did a old bodywork trick I learned years ago. When I primed it for blocking I let each coat dry several days or a week before blocking the primer. This is sort of like letting the body cure out before working with it. The Mk 4 still has things to fix. My left fender didn't line up with the door and required some rework.
