West Marine offers several sizes of LED strips in various colors. I’ve got a couple in my footboxes, trunk cubby, and trunk. Probably made in China as well but so far they’ve held up.

Edit: Here's the one's I have in the footboxes.

I have larger versions in the cubby and trunk.

Pretty much all the strips look like that no matter where they're made.
On the hot rod we tend to put them where they aren't seen, under the dash for example.
If you do want them out in the open, an alternative would be to buy a non LED light that you like and use an LED replacement bulb, they come in all sizes....

I bought several led light strips. I found 2 issues. The LED’s had glare, and not uniform. Also most of the pigtail wires were extremely small. Even if stripping carefully there were only 3-4 strands of wire. Hard to terminate.

I went with these in each foot box, cubby and trunk. Look great, light great and easy to install.

If you are looking for good quality, go with The Retrofit Source below. I picked up their 3 zone kit with the bluetooth Morimoto RGB controller and various RGB strips. Two in my engine bay and one under the foot wells.

I agree that the strips are cheap and easy to install except for the fact the the wire gauge tends to be extremely small. They must be positioned so the light is indirect, ie:footwells, trunk... It is way too bright to see the actual LEDs. With a hidden position, it doesn't matter how cheap the strip may look.
