    I've seen over the years where a few fellows have used the 3-M clear vinyl cling type, also a similar, self-adhesive Di-Noc carbon fiber spat. You cut the pattern required.
    I've never heard a complaint.

    My suggestion was a temp solution until you get some spat protection that will work with your 289 to help prevent any damage. FWIW I was told not to put any PPF film on my car for at least 6 months after it was painted. Not sure where you are on the timeline but something to consider. I know you can buy PPF (3M) and cut it yourself and make your own template.
