I am really liking the idea of a rearview mirror / camera setup @rsnake mentioned above. Going to research those more. Trick like he mentioned will be placing the camera in a location where it isn't too visible. My main concern I guess is someone coming quickly up on you into the blind spot....I imagine especially with these cars guys speeding up from behind to "check it out" (guilty of that myself )...and being harnessed in difficult to manually check the blind spot I imagine...

Wonder if it can just be mounted inside to the hatch glass up top....distortion for sure, but I don't need to be able to read what brand of chips they're eating

Well the beauty of this is that I bought it from Costco, so if I don't like, I can return. Unfortunately, the camera is mounted in the license plate - lower which is not the ideal location as others have mentioned. The monitor can be mounted as a rear view mirror and you can adjust the field of view, so I'll give it a try.

Spending money like a Rockstar, ordered the PBS-1 push button start from Digital Guard Dawg.

Requested the black billet aluminum start button (over the brushed stainless steel) with the GREEN halo activation/arming light which will go nicely with my green Speedhut gauges. Also chose the standard key fob over the OEM style. This allows for you to slide the fob open and turn off the proximity arming feature for example, if you are at a car show.

I'm sure you could use some other camera besides the one it comes with.
Or, mount the license plate on top of the car!

I ordered 818 mirrors for my coupe, which are similar to all the mirrors mentioned in this thread (at least from the pictures). My shipping date is in July though, surely somebody tried these and i will not be the first one?! They are out of stock now btw..

    Chris,
Congratulations, not on the forum much. This is the first time reading that you ordered a coupe kit. Sounds like it going to be an awesome build. The coyote comes on strong in the mid range rpm’s. Can’t wait to see it come together.

Hi Paul, thanks - appreciate it my friend. I'm looking forward to seeing how the Gen 3 Coyote performs. Hopefully, the weather up there is changing so you and the gang can get out for some group runs! I do miss those...

No, EdwardB forewarned me. Didn’t really want a plastic one, not like I’ll be using it a lot. I am impressed with the quality of the unit….

Chase Bays parts are very nice quality, I have their hydro in my Coupe-R. Their shop is in Birmingham Alabama, about an hour south of me.

You don't need much volume for washer fluid. Not like a daily driver mule with 2 gallons. I'm curious to see how you tackle mounting the spray nozzles to the body, or integrating them to the wiper arms.

Received my Gen 3 Coyote from Forte today. It has the Ford control pack, alternator & additionally, a IRS diff vent kit for the rear end I recently bought from him. I also had previously received my TKX transmission & hydraulic throw out bearing from American Powertrain:

Yes, TKX...old eyes. Going to purchase my flywheel from American Powetrain (been real impressed with them so far), and going with the new high reving/horse power Centerforce clutch for the Coyote.

And so it begins! This morning, Stewart Transportation delivered my Type 65 complete kit #151885. The same driver delivered my MK4 Cobra to Washington State 12 years ago. It never gets old...

Load them as images instead of attachments, don't use the photo tag at the top of the post, wrap the image adressess in [IMG] and [/IMG] tags.
Of course that only works if you have them posted at a photo hosting site...

Precursory inventory done. Many items pending and body removed. Coyote Moroso race/low profile oil pan ordered (unknown ETA, but Moroso oil pan pickup received). Alignment/overlap - Sharpie marking & numbering of aluminum panels next...

After that, photos and removal of aluminum panels.

Left my big shop in Havasu for my ranch. Have three separate out buildings and a three car garage. It can can handle way more than this light car. Miss my big shop, but, - this is fine…

I will use my big garage to drop the motor in. This building is exclusively for the build. I've worked with less...

Just curious, have thought of getting one of those buildings a few times over the years.

Unfortunately, had two surgeries on my right arm and battling an infection at one of the incision sites. I did get the steering rack mounted and sent my steering hub off to Russ Thompson for his modification for his turn signal assembly:

Taking advantage of healing down time and ordered the remaining components for my drive train. Forte received a pallet of Coyote Moroso oil pans today, so I canceled my pending Summit Racing order and purchased from him. Additionally, ordered the remained needed components: starter, Quick Time Bell housing, fly wheel, clutch, clutch fork and all needed hardware & gaskets. Did not know, but Quick Time makes two different bell housings for the Coyote, street & race (SFI rated). Forte has a large industrial band saw that makes quick work at clearancing the bell housing to clear the frame. As most have commented, the Gen 3 ain't pretty to look at and the engine cover requires modification to work with this application. Forte modifys a Gen 2 (I believe) engine cover to work with the Gen 3. The heads & coil packs are exposed, but it's an improvement, so I ordered that as well:

Looks awesome Chris! I often question my going with a 347 when seeing these Coyotes....

Thanks Richard, I went kicking & screaming with the Coyote (better half & son wanted it). Very happy with my 347 and maybe just a bit intimated by the complexity of the Gen 3. But, it will pay off in the long run. Performance, cost, drivability, mileage etc…

The simplicity, performance and the vintage look of the 347 is hard to beat. Ironically, I spent less on my Gen 3 Coyote than I did on my 347.

Well I'm building a 347, and I don't think you're being ironic at all! I have come to find the parts shortages as a bit of a needed "payment plan" haha...

Well, after a number of medical procedures and my son's wedding in WA State, back at it. Lower control arms (rear spacer installed) and Moog tie rods used:

After several inquiries from our community, I felt compelled to explain why this build is starting slow. After several right arm surgeries and a bad infection at one of the surgery sites, I'm still struggling with the functioning of my right hand. I'm also battling vertigo as well from previous cervical fractures & surgeries. So I'm taking advantage of this down time to have a steel shop put up. You don't realize how dependent you are for day to day activities in using your dominant hand. Things are compounded by my balance getting turned upside down.

Just wanted to let my extended family within our great community know, that I'm slowly moving onward & upward.

Hope things heal well and you are back to normal soon. Good luck!
    My Type 65 Coupe: Ordered May 27, 2021. Arrived November 19, 2021.
I would like to treat my gas pedal as a binary operator. It would be nice to get the cooperation of everyone in front of me.

Front coilovers and lower control arms installed after the springs were re-coated in red powdercoat to match the red Wilwood calipers. I believe other members have noted this, but the stainless steel bushings that center the upper shock mounts are not clearenced enough for the attaching bolts to pass through. Do not try to "deadblow" the bolt to push through these sleeves (how do I know?). It will deform the mounting tabs very easily...used a pricy drill bit capable of reaming through the stainless steel mounting spacers to the bolt's specific diameter.

Between health challenges and putting up a new shop, this is going to be a much slower build than originally planned.

I wanted to reach back out to the community I have been involved with and have loved over the past 11+ years. Still have been off radar and uninvolved for months...

Multiple surgeries, infections, setbacks, weddings, construction projects...it has been a tough fight.

We get to a stage in life to obtain our personal dreams, yet our chosen paths in life and the physical trauma associated negates the joy. Do your best to protect your body!

My complete respect to our members that are building while battling serious health challenges. There is a fine line where the joy of building offsets physical pain...

Hope to building soon. Have written a lot of checks that I can't currently cash (CNC Plasma table)...
