Hey Guys,
Have always had a miss that comes and goes, mostly goes. 331 stroker with (old) mass flo fuel injection. So, I have been hunting the issue and replaced pretty much all of the ignition components (PIP, TFI, wires, coil, plugs) and problem still there. So, I was reading some thread on here on a completely unrelated topic and this guy was using a infrared thermometer to point at the header to make sure the cylinder was firing. Well, on that whim, I decided to do the same. BTW, the car runs rather well, but just a nagging miss.
Interestingly, all cylinders record about 360-390 degrees except #2, which reports 470-520 degrees? I checked for vacuum leak with carb cleaner around the intake and no apparent leak. Could this be an injector problem? Is there a way to test to make sure it is working properly. it is a 30# injector, are they standard or is there a particular replacement I should be looking at? Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you,
Chris
