    Hi Wayne,

I have been waiting patiently, but I REALLY wish you would let us know some more information about the fabric you are using on your dash.

And did I mention it was wet sanded and buffed while I was in Savannah? That's the trailer and truck 75 feet away

I happen to know third hand , that material is aged Beaver pelt soaked in alcohol. Hard to come by except during "spring break", seems to be a lot of it, otherwise the rest of you are out of luck without a S Florida/Louisiana connection.
Who would have thought it would get more mileage. happy halloween.. Time to take a break for the kids.

Cool decals Wayne. As Dennis said, I can see your reflection in your awesome paint job!

Where did you get hold of that Factory Five decal? Nice!

I thought you said you wouldn't have your car until Monday. Is this some Jedi mind trick or something? HA!

Welcome back, and I can't wait to see your upholstery.

    Regards,

    Steve

All of the manufacturers were kind enough to supply their logo's in vector format and my sign guy cut them out of the same roll of vinyl.

I had the decal made. I was supposed to be in Savannah until Sunday night but we broke a rod in one of the Elises. I mean broke it just under the wrist pin then the rest of the rod buzz sawed the block, the cam tried to open the valves in to the now stationary piston breaking the rocker arm. It's a mess. So I loaded up and came home. Worked on the car today and it looks like it will still be Monday before I get the door panels in.

Sorry to hear about your Lotus engine.

BTW your 818 finish is so nice all the photographers will be have to work hard to not be in the picture themselves or catching other background in your shiny finish!

    Great job!

I'd love to get that F5 one as a chrome badge. Does FFR make something like that??

They make nose badges that are smaller.

    Wayne-

I am so very sorry about your engine! Glad to hear no one was hurt though, this could have ended very poorly!

What a rotten way to end the weekend.

Good luck getting her all fixed and back together, but sorry you have to go through it.

I am looking forward to seeing your new pictures when you get to it. Again, very sorry!

    Regards,

    Steve

Just curious, is FFR subsidizing any of this build as a show car, or is all this on your own dime? I imagine that paint job alone is high 4 figures, and overall the finished car must be north of 30k.

My son had the same happen to his Audi, you could almost put your hand through the engine. He spent the summer building a new motor. Big hassle all around. But look on the bright side... You have the option to upgrade. It's only money after all

Wayne, car looks great, but if I can add something constructive, the uncut side intakes gives it an unfinished "kit car" look, if that makes any sense. Just saw a pic of Erik's with them cut and such relatively small details makes a huge difference. I know it's probably too late for SEMA, but do you plan to do them or leave as is?

It's all mine, the wheels, tires, brakes were sponsored.

I probably should have had them cut and not way to get them cut before SEMA. I did all of the rest without the surrounds so it's going to take cutting and painting to put them in.

Like I said, fantastic job on it. What about some kind of black plastic appliqués that would look good on the intakes? No cutting or refinishing required.

With my seats being almost on the floor, I have 2.25" spacers in place of the .300 FFR supplied to drop the steering wheel into a comfortable position. even with the stock spacers there is an open area between the shroud and the dash.
