moving towards getting this to crank and make some noise....

Wiring is about 80% done... I am going to get it running with all the stock switches first then wire up the cyclic stick... Engine went in today for the FINAL time... while I was at it I went ahead and recycled the 2015 clutch tubing..fit nice. All I had to do is re-bend one line and it all worked out... I can go ahead and put brake fluid and clutch fluid in tomorrow. The Coyote Harness is 100% laid into the Ron Francis Harness... will work the seat heaters tomorrow as well as start working the custom driveshaft I need built. Looks pretty cool.

I had a couple people ask me about the MT82 tranny and how far it hangs below... so here are some more shots..

From the front... oil pan JUST below the frame:

from the side... the angle makes it worse than it is.... and now I am noticing some surface corrosion that needs to be taken of ...

Custom Made MT 82 tranny mount

    Hydraulic Clutch line peeking out

getting ready to mount the intercoolers!

    Eric,

How hard is it going to be to get to that fuel pressure regulator later on?

Thanks for posting the pics because I was really interested in seeing how far, if any, the driveline protruded below the frame.

If I had 1/2 of your skills the GoDadGo MK-4 would be running.

This car is really going to be something special!

Didn't get as much done today... had a few visitors and some friends came over.... so got the intercooler mounts made... one intercooler color matched to the car color... looks pretty good... had planned on measuring up the driveshaft, but that is a next weekend thing I suppose. anyway....

Hi Erik, really enjoying your build process and the pictures. I will be ordering one in April so really looking forward to building it. I am new to the site and no one has built a Coupe down here in New Zealand. I have seen your order to Factory Five but it would be really interested if you or anyone on the thread had a full list of all the items that i would need to buy to build the car??? Cheers Graeme.

    Erik,

Did you mount the engine lower for any reason? Or is that where it just sits? The reason why I ask is that the oil pan being even that little bit below the frame would be an automatic fail at NJ title inspection.

Erik, did you shim up the motor mounts? I believe the kit comes with shims you put in the motor mounts

With that powerplant it should be the most powerful coupe to date. Any plan to do a top speed run or a standing mile run with it?
With your final drive ratio what speed would redline be IF the COD doesn't win the battle?
    Love watching the build.

Geez... I don't know....THe Green Lantern was a handful....we'll see I suppose....for sure it is going to the 1/4 mile track.... I mean it has a line lock....so a burn out or 4 will be required.

    Erik,
Another Huntsville guy here (Madison actually). Would love to come over and see the build sometime. I'm currently converting a 96 Mustang to Coyote power but these builds are very interesting. If I can convince the wife maybe this will be next.

Was just waiting for the Roaster mindset to evaporate,

Raise your right hand and say after me,

"I (State your name), do swear/affirm, that upon acceptance of this "Revered Coupe Jacket", will willingly subject myself to all manner of frustration and abrasion that my FFR Type 65 will provide. I further pledge that any and all fellow Coupe builders will have free reign in using the cash available in my wallet as they see fit to improve my build plan. I will not look down upon our fellow Roadster builders, but rather take pity on those not talented enough to build a race car with a roof, So Help Me God!"

It is my pleasure to present you with the "Revered Coupe Jacket", Here's your sign!!

Hank, is that my jacket? If so I'm honored. And a bit scared.

Thanks Erik, I'll give you a call. I don't do the just drop by think. Drives the wife nuts when people do that.

Another few steps closer today.... work has let up some.... so spent the FULL day at it.... Seat heaters installed, some more wiring, installed the shifter for the final time, installed a good chunk of the aluminum.. the back is completely done, cockpit floors are in, battery installed and cables run...man I guess I got a lot done now that I am typing it all out... only 3 pictures but the under car shot looks great with the powdered panels....too bad it won't be seen.... anyway... closer to first start!

Wow: This Chassis Truly Lends Itself To Ground Effects.

It looks like you could totally smooth things out under the entire chassis if there is room enough to move the drive line up just a smidge.

    Erik,

    This looks great.

Just out of idle curiosity, how is the fit of the aluminum panels so far? "Everything almost fits" was the old and largely accurate saying about the prior versions, and I'm curious about whether that's improved.

So far, even for a beta, everything fit really really well! I think based on my size no problem on the seats...I will be mounting the seats shortly and you will see how much room there is

only a few hours on it yesterday after my eye check up... course I couldn't see too great after....

anyway, driver's side turbo header final install and wrap. Today I should finish up everything on the driver's side until first start....once the turbo stuff get's done should be cruising pretty steady... the green lantern took me about a month to do - so I think I am on track.

didn't get as much done as I wanted....

Driver's turbo now installed for the final time.... drain lines mocked up... need some line...cobra steering shaft "modified" to fit the coupe. (thanks john and mark)... I now have steering... installed radiator aluminum and placed radiator in the car. Alternator also went back in now that the turbo is in...the shorty headers and the alternator plug occupy the same space.... so I had to disassemble the plug and hard wire the alternator.... the AC and the shorty headers on the other side occupy the same place... so I will have to figure something out there (I have a plan already) . Hopefully I will move over to the pass side turbo tomorrow... I have to grind a bit on the frame to make rum for the driver's side drain line...also need to install the IC pump... getting close!

Great build Erik! Looks like you may have almost enough rubber on it

Closing in on that first start... all the extra crap for the turbos really slows this down... anyway... coolant is mostly in. Oil Filter is now in and filled. Both Turbos, headers and waste gates are installed and header wrap installed. Driver's side turbo oil return complete...still waiting on fittings for oil supply lines (which is the only reason I haven't started it) . Still have to bleed brakes and clutch and put fluids in the engine and tranny.... that should be the end of the mechanical and I can finish up the wiring after that...ordered my custom side pipes $$$$.... but they will look bad to the bone....so I had to have them.

The lower radiator hose is Dayco 81491 Henry... you WILL need this. You also have to trim the aluminum to get the hose in there....on exit... mine contacts the sway bar... so I will address that next...

it is looking like I should start it!

And that boys & girls is a typical Erik build. Actually that's not 100% correct; he'd have had it running sooner but has cut back on the Red Bulls.
