I kept the motor above 4000 rpm so the lag wasn't really noticeable. The A2A intercooler worked decent but the manifold air temps still would reach 149° F at the end of the straight on an 82° F
No sway bar, the spring rates have the body roll under control.
I was going 154 mph at the end of the straight and was still accelerating.
It really looks great
Overall driving impression is car is just a touch loose in slower corners and neutral to just a touch tight in the high speed stuff. You come onto the front straight at about 104 mph and I peaked at 154 mph. It pulled 1.6 G right and 1.5 G left. I pulled the short windscreen and got rid of the buffeting. I need to add .25° of negative camber in the left rear for clockwise tracks.
It really accelerates out of the corners very well
Oil temp peaked at 270° F

Sounds great. I wish my brakes were that quiet.
What caused the wobble at 4:23 that sent the right tire into the sand and the spin? Was it too much power at the corner exit?

too much right foot on corner exit and when it came back off boost it spun. The car needed slightly different throttle reduction and less counter steer. The 3 year old slicks really didn't help me out either. I learned the car really lazy spins, I had the track to myself so wasn't concerned with having to really trying to catch it. It was my 7 lap in the car since building it.

Boy, to escape that crash with a broken arm and bruised lung......on his first race too. Makes you realize how very badly things can go.
Any idea what it would cost to duplicate this build for myself?
Do they have the front IC ducted to force air through it?
Are you planning on adding the oil cooler to the front or off one of the side scoops?
Love the nose video!

Man, it goes from 100 to 155 really fast!! I noticed you were be easy on the high speed shifts.
Really enjoyed the video.
were you able to simulate those IC temps on the dyno so you could figure out safe timing at those boost and temp levels..

Very cool videos Wayne, great job editing and data overlay.
It looks like FFR or you took a cue from the Gen 3 Type 65 Coupe with the extra roll cage bar diagonally from the center across the passenger area. I wonder if that will become standard like on the Gen 3?
And it looks like the engine cover wants to take flight!

Very Nice! Wow what a fast car. The speed picks up quickly. I am not familiar with the car. What engine and transmission are you using?

Ok that is what I thought. I'm seeing 250 on the track in 70 degree weather and it will be higher as the weather gets hotter. I have a big O2A oil cooler and have removed the factory O2W oil cooler/warmer, but the cooler is placed in the back next to the transmission where it doesn't get a ton of flow. I do have a SPAL fan hooked to it but it doesn't seem to be enough. I need to put it behind the side scoop with some really air-tight ducting. I also have high coolant temps though and am wondering if better radiator ducting may help reduce the oil temps somewhat as well. You mentioned you are planning on putting an oil cooler in the front; that is a lot of extra hose and oil volume but I wonder if it's the only way that will work.
Well, the more I look at it, there are some things that would have to be different. I need headlights (to get it road legal so that I can drive it to the track). And I would want a passenger seat. Since I'm new to the car, I probably wouldn't want as much HP off the bat, but would like the ability to get it there. Is this making ANY sense?
Thanks
very cool. Was the shifter giving you problems? I too noticed the rear cowl and weird door extension fiberglass piece want to leave the car at speed.
Our oil temps match water at 185-190 max, but we are running an oil cooler (big one) under our top scoop. AIT's are 125 at the end of the straight with our a2a intercooler on top of the engine, but we are still running the stock VF28.
In terms of safety (arm restraints you bad boy) and maybe look at padding the edge of that fuel cell to save your right elbow when your fighting off the bees in the cockpit!
Great video, can't wait to get ours back on track.

Well I had a little bit of time today so I swapped the stock exhaust manifolds and crossover for a Borla unequal length header I had sitting around at the shop. I did a few pulls and had t add a little fuel because of the increase in efficiency. Then took off the plate style of downpipe and made a new one with bellmouth. Overall it picked up 9 peak RWHP and 36 RWTQ. The average HP was up 36 and average TQ was up 31 from 4000-7250 RPM. It spooled up nearly 400 rpm sooner too, I call that a win

We just moved and haven't even started setting up my shop. My stuff is split between a container here at the track and trailer which is making it tough to get much done on my ride.
If I get an amazing amount done between now and the 19th I just might have to make the drive.
