    Arm Rests

Am still trying to finish up all the small details. Did not receive any arm rests with my kit but did get the aluminum templates. Contacted Dave and this is what he sent they have studs on the other side and they don't match the template. I am afraid to use them as they only attach to the door panel itself. I think they should attach to the door brace bar for strength. After continual use I think it would ruin the door panel. Thoughts? Ray

Hard to tell if those are the same shape as what came with mine but they did attache with the studs to the door panel. The panel is pretty rugged aluminum as you will find out when you try to bend it to match the door shape. I don't believe you need to anchor it to the door frame as the panel is so strong and the door so light. I have not experienced any problems.

Thanks for all your inputs. Weird how everyone got something different. I am assuming the template is for locating and drilling the holes on the door center bracket. I believe this would work best. I do not like the idea of just attaching arm rests to a thin piece of aluminum, as I think this would eventually ruin the door panel. Wallace 18 did your arm rests have holes or 5/16 studs? The ones I received had studs. Thanks again Ray

Threaded holes. They will not hurt the door panels. You can always add a black screw to the panel and to door bar if you want to.

I welded a couple of brackets with rivet nuts to the door structure but made sure they didn't interfere with getting the power window operator out.
