    GTM Wheel Well Liners

Any interest in some GTM wheel well liners? Since I got roped into make these for Roadsters and have the material on hand, I figured I might as well make some up for the GTM. This is one thing that always concerned me on these cars. After a few thousand miles of rocks being thrown up against the bottom side of the hood and above the rear wheels, the fiberglass will spider-crack and the paint will all begin to crack and pop off. With many of the GTM builders doing show-car quality builds with $$$$ paint jobs, these should do an excellent job of protecting your investment. You'll have to excuse the tape and clamps (I'm prototyping here). The rears attach to the front and rear aluminum panels which "wedges" the top of the arch in place between the inner aluminum panels and area above the wheel arch. The photos are a bit deceiving....the top part is well up inside the body....3" above the top of the wheel arch in the body.....plenty of tire clearance for suspension travel.

The front liners serve double duty. They replace the aluminum FFR splash guards/braces behind the headlights (which you can't really use to protect the headlights because of the way the aluminum fits), so you get full protection for your headlights as well as protecting the bottom of the hood from rock strikes that can spider crack the fg/paint. These also add a very nice, finished look to the front wheel wells.

These are easily retro-fit-able to any already completed GTM.

    Thoughts?

Very interested in the front. Do the stay in place while the hood moves?

The front liners will be attached to the hood and move with the hood. The part of the liner that contacts the body will have bulb seal attached. I have not come up with pricing yet, but will very likely make these available soon.

Whats the gap between the hood and the front protectors around where the wheel vents would be installed? Wondering if cutting a simple hole to allow the vents to be functional would be straight forward.

Gap is probably around an inch. The liners will attach directly to the raised bracing that's bonded to the underside of the hood....so would be level across the hood from there.

Trying to get a car finished up here, so it might be a few weeks before these liners are available.....

Best estimate right now would be around $290 for front and rears and all mounting hardware.

Front liners. We cut holes for the fender vents on these, but the liners will normally not have those openings cut into them:

    Shane,
Quick question.... Will there be a different front set for the GEN2 hood? I just noticed the contour for the GEN1 vent on the picture. Thanks.

    Hi Vidal,

Good question. Probably the best solution for me would be to make all of them for the Gen II and mark the back side for the vent cut-out so the customer can trim that area out for a Gen I.

Shane these liners look great, and will save people a ton of money long term.

$250 or so is nothing when compared to repairing spider cracks and repainting sections of a finished car.

They sure give a more "finished" look. I wish I had had a set for my GTM.

As always, you bring very inovative and high quality parts to the Factory Five crowd.

    Take care,
