    How do I tell what porche trans this is?

    There is a trans for sale locally, I don't know how to tell what kind it is, the numbers on the side are on one pic. the side view is another. any help identifying it will be greatly appreciated!

    I'm no expert, and I'm sure others will chime in, but based upon the numbers alone it appear to be a "930" trans. They are known to be strong, but I don't think it is a drop in on the GTM. The guys from CMS can tell you I'm sure.

    If it is like the G50's there will be a flat machined off spot in the center of the trans.....on the bottom in your pic..... with the model stamped into it.

    In the first pic the first numbers are 930 it is a 930 transaxle HTH, Richard.

    The guys at CMS got back to me with the scoop. it is a 930 trans, 4 speed, solid, tough, old school syncros, no cable shifter is currently in the market, could be spendy to rebuild, in the 3-4000 range. that pretty much puts me back at the G50 or G96 pricing levels. I appreciate all your help!
