    Mk IV for Sale

EDIT: Added more details about the car below

    https://youtu.be/fanV6db8KxQ

    Hi Everyone,

The time has come to sell my Mk 4, number 8980. Although it is painful to sell, the wife and I are moving on to our next adventure, building a cabin! The car was completed in 2020 and has 4808 miles. The drivetrain is bulletproof with a DART 363, forged internals, TrickFlow aluminum heads, custom cam from Cam Research, and a Brawler 750 carb. Power goes through a Tremec TKX attached to a Quicktime bell housing and McLeod Street Extreme Clutch. Rear end is a 3.31 Ford Racing Trac-Lok limited slip with larger 31 spline axles. The paint is a midnight blue with pearl that looks black at night and sparkles blue in the sun. For chilly nights, the seats are heated.

The car was built by me and is titled in Virginia as a 1965 Factory Five Roadster.

    Engine:
    - DART block bored and stroked to 363
    - Forged internals
    -10.2:1 compression
-Trickflow aluminum heads with comp rockers
    - Custom cam from cam research
    - 750 Brawler mechanical secondary carb
    - 4 into 1 headers
    - Estimated 500hp at the crank
    - Pertronix distributor with rev limiter
    - Levy Racing Oil Pan

    Transmission & Rear End:
    - Tremec TKX 5spd (Tremec's newest hotrod offering, rated for 600+ hp)
    - Mcleod Street Extreme clutch & pressure plate
    - Ford Racing flywheel
    - 3 link rear suspension
    - 8.8 inch Ford Racing Trac-Lok limited slip with larger 31 spline axles.

    Paint & Interior
    - Midnight blue with pearl. Looks almost black in low light, and sparkles blue in the sun.
    - Burled walnut inserts on door cards
    - Heated seats
    - GPS speedometer

Other Details (suspension, brakes, steering, etc)
    - Manual brakes with modified brake pedal for leverage. Front brakes are SN95 with G-Loc pads. Rear brakes are from a 94 SVT Cobra with Hawk pads
    - Wheels are 17 inch Halibrands. Front tires are Nitto 555 G2 (245/45/17). Rear tires are Nitto 555R II (315/35/17)
    - Manual steering
    - Tubular control arms from FF
    - FFMetal battery box (frees up trunk space)
    - FFMetal trans tunnel top
    - FFMetal Firewall Forward Kit

Next post includes more pictures and a video walk around.

    Asking Price: $62,500

The car is located in the Northern Virginia area. If interested, respond to the thread or PM me (will happily share my phone number)

    Best,
    Scott

    Scott,

You've got a fantastic car in an amazing color.
Are you going to list it in Bring-A-Trailer?
It might be worth listing it there.

Hi Steve - Thanks so much! Honestly, this community and the people are so great I'd prefer to list it here before I go to BaT.

Ha! Judging by your location, the commute might be a little far. Thanks for the kind words! The paint job is really something special.

Great looking Roadster. Even if it's not red. () You might want to add a few more details to your listing: Brake details, wheel/tire details, power steering yes/no, power brakes yes/no, hydraulic clutch yes/no, who built it (I expect you, but good idea to mention), build thread link if you have one, title details. Of course you can/will provide those details when contacted. But you may get even more interest with a few more details.

I've sold on here with good success. Also used BAT which was an OK experience. Just takes some time to get through all their hoops. Good luck with your sale.

As always, thank you for the great advice. Updating my original post now. Also, thanks for the kind words. I truly hope someone in the community ends up with the car.

Good luck with the sale Scott. Such a beautiful ride, but a cabin is also exciting! Don't forget Facebook marketplace. It's free and you get true locals that can actually come see the car which spurs more likely buyers. I sold mine there inside of 2 weeks from a couple that was an hour away.

Thanks for the compliments! Did you have to deal with a lot of tire kickers on Facebook Marketplace?

    Unhappy

Are you sure? Can't cruise with your buddies, go to cars & coffee, or do a burn out with a cabin. Just wanted to point that out.

    Edit: Added sad face
