First start followed by first gokart 10 minutes later

Here it is... the day finally came. It didn't go a smoothly as the video suggests. I edited out all the different attempts to get it to run long enough so I could scoot around and set the timing. The end result is what matters!

Awesome job Darren, I didn't have the patience to set the suspension up enough to allow for gokarting before I fired my motor...I'm encouraged, I don't feel like I'm that far behind you...

I'm contemplating whether to start my body work now, or just do gelcoat all summer and wait until winter. Are you doing your own paint and body?

I'm doing my own body work and paint. I'll be driving in gelcoat this season and hopefully get to some body work over the winter. Might be in primer for the next season or if I'm lucky I'll have final color.

Congratulations! After the day the kit is picked up or arrives at the builder's home, this is the most exciting time. The third and final excitement from the build comes the day it is insured and registered. You are well on your way.

The bottom end was built by AD Performance. I built the rest, it was a fun experience. Mike Forte supplied nearly all the completion components from the shortblock up.

Darren, did the brake pads stop you well? Once you get it in a more driveable state, you'll need to bed in the pads. And use all the clips

He he, I used all the clips! to tell you the truth with all the adrenaline I was experiencing I could have stopped the car without pads. The weather sucks for the next week so far so I won't have a chance to bed them but I anticipate they will do fine.

Do you have a preferred bedding procedure?
