Check out the 818S Model with Revised Nose Photo Gallery!

We've posted a new 818 photo gallery in the street configuration. The car also features the revised nose design that is now standard on all 818 models. There are also pics that show the optional 818 soft top. Click here to view the full photo gallery.

Great pics Dino as always. The new nose really comes alive with the coupe but looks great here as well.

Looks really nice, just out of curiosity where does the exhaust exit on that car?

I got dimensions from Courtnie for the crate of 119x64x26. Now just waiting on weight. I've plugged in 500lbs for shipping and lowest price I've found was about $500 and up.

I heard the same thing. Anyone in SoCal that just wants the front end can combine shipping with me. It will go on top of my crate since I'm getting both pieces. This was the original shipping idea from ffr. Unless they can shove more than on top and front end in a crate.

Does anyone know what side mirrors were used on these cars? A link would be nice too.

APR mirrors I'm guessing. A few R guys have them on their cars.

Stopped by and saw this crate last week. Approx 12 by 6 by 3. No idea if its final configuration.

I notice this S has roll-up windows instead of the zip in. Did the top change to support the windows or are these different than the coupe windows? Is there a separate kit for doing just the windows?

Fairly certain that is only because the 818S you are seeing in these pictures is actually the 818 Coupe with the top swapped back to the S windshield. Everything I have seen is that the roll up windows still don't work. The most obvious place is the front corner. The hard top has a small triangle that fills in the front corner. On the 818S windshield, this area is open, so there would be no window/fill in this space.

Some of the photos in the coupe gallery had the lights on, same car just with the roof installed.

Can the headlights be aimed correctly? I'd like to make sure before I buy, since that's a problem with the 818S nose I have now. Best would be a photo of the headlight pattern on a marked wall, as per the manual.

I can answer my own question after calling FFR. The new 818 front end has the same headlights as the GTM and they have 4 adjustment screws, hence no problem adjusting. With that, I bought the front end for $799 in white to be shipped with my white coupe top.

Was I supposed to have a budget?

There are some big advantages to the new nose:
    1. Much easier to assemble headlights.
    2. Easier to line up panels.
    3. head lights that can be aligned.
    4. bigger air intake for radiator.
    5. More OEM looking IMHO
    6. Projector headlights

The only downside is sanding down the mold seems.

I have a lot of work into the original nose. I am not going to change at this point.
I still have a whole second car to build.
