There is a classified section if you scroll down in the forums section.

I think you have to have 20-25ish posts in order to post in the classified section to make sure you are a member instead of a spammer.

Still setting up the classifieds, so they are closed for just a bit more.

And yes, you will have to have a minimum post count to open a thread there. I'm thinking more like 100 than 25...

    Thoughts?

I believe a threshold of 25-50 should suffice.

25 is probably better. If you make it 100, someone may post a bunch of junky threads just to meet the minimum.

I agree with the 25. Will there be some kind of member rating as well? Although I think we, the members, do a pretty good job of weeding out the riff-raff.

I'd like to make a suggestion before this thread gets stale. Canadians have some archaic legislation to deal with concerning importation of completed cars. Read that as "we can't import one". I believe you Yanks have the same problem. You cannot import one from Canada. It would really be helpful if a separate classified section could be set up for us Canucks for complete cars. It could either be a new section in the classifieds or a subsection of the Canadian discussion forum. Either that or force OPs of classified to somehow clearly identify their location so that we can all eventually weed through the classified and find the ones from our respective countries.

As a newbie (MK4 arriving in a few weeks), I actually like a little advertising as long as it's relevant / targeted from vendors that I might want to do business with. Definitely agree on the 25 post threshold though.

I don't think that's overly necessary - 98% of the cars for sale on here are in the US. Canadians are already aware of that and usually mark their f/s threads as being in Canada.

I was on the other forum for about a year and didnt have 100 posts, but bought and sold a few things in the classifieds. I am all for cutting down on spammers but 100 minimum seems excessive....

100 seems a bit much, but 25 doesn't seem like enough. A person get get 25 in 1 or 2 days if they really wanted to post a classified. 50 seems like at least they stuck around for a few days.
