    Front Jack Bolts -Dumb Question

Installing front/rear jack bolts in the same location they came from during body disassembly, is it necessary? Manual doesn't mention that it's important but build video does? Thoughts?

I did based on the video recommendation but for the life of me couldn't figure out why it would matter. Would be curious to hear of anyone has a solid reason why.

If you have the early Mk4 angle cut split sleeves/spacers that sandwich the body they need to go back into the proper orientation (all 4 are a different combination of inner and outer). If you have the through the body sleeves with a newer Mk4 from the last 2 years or so it does not matter.

Finish Line Accessories has some nice Grommets for both the front and rear.

Check them out if you have a minute.

FFR includes the front ones on the later "through the body" version. An earlier car can be retrofitted with the grommets and full length sleeves. I don't like them in the back because that mounting method doesn't allow the lower valence to be adjusted to match up with the deck lid.
