New Quietpipes
Just finished updating the exhaust on my Mk 1.5 to a set of Bob Boig's Quiet pipes! After the original glass packs died years ago, I went to Lobak mufflers, with a Car Chemistry insert and catalytic converters to quiet it down because I used it as a daily driver. Recently, I have been leaving it in the garage because it was just unpleasant to drive it. So I got some new J-pipes (EFI motor) to replace the cats and go to the 4 bolt connector and just finished the install last night. Love the sound! Motor is actually peppier because the cats are gone. Nice job, Bob

No mention of your engine, but after dropping cats and on short pipes and headers, I would check the tune.

Well, you didn't get where you are without a tune, so I am sure you are aware of what you need.
