We Swung Some Wrenches & Logged Some Test Miles Too!
Hey Gang,
I made a little sheet metal brake so that I could properly bend the side louvers.
All I did was clamp the sheet aluminum to give me a little flat spot to aid in the louver stability.
They came out pretty good so I wanted to share them with you all.

Though I'm not an expert builder by any means, feel free to reach out to me if I can be any assistance to you.
Steve

Thanks!
I'm going to be using 383 Mopar Emblems to hold the louvers in place, where the stock emblems go along with a little silly putty.
They will be subtle, definitely not tacky, and are good quality since they came from AMD.

Thanks Again!

Good idea Steve -- looks like it worked great. Building cars is all about solving problems as they come up and you used your ingenuity to fabricate a needed tool.

Yes, and the popping you hear is the engine hitting the Rev Limiter which I've got set at an extremely low at 4,000 RPM.

The wheels came from OEWHEELSLLC and they are sporting their stock center caps that have a cool looking Eagle on them....Though OE no longer produces these wheels, LMR still makes a very similar version which come in several different finishes and at very reasonable pricing.

Steve,
Looking and SOUNDING GREAT my friend!!
I have one concern, however...
You don't know how to get in and out of your cobra yet! I can guarantee you that you will get snakebit climbing in and out of your car like that!
Seriously, what you need to do - and teach others to do as well - is to put your butt at the top of the seat, put BOTH feet in, and then walk yourself down into the seat. To exit, powerpress your butt up to the top of the seat while walking your feet out of the footwell, and then step OVER the pipes to get out.
You're really getting close! GREAT JOB!!

Excellent Advice Because Entry & Exit Is A Big Problem!
Since you are taller than tall and I'm only 5'10", I'll consider you to be the Big Expert on this subject.
We Will Start Practicing Our Entry & Exit With Cold Pipes Until We Perfect The Technique!

Funny!
I'm just so glad to have it running again and to have the time to swing wrenches.

We Installed The Hood Hinges, Gas Cap & Door Latches Today, Yea!
The hood, doors, and trunk all got aligned during the process.
In addition, instead of a stack of washers to adjust the door strikers, I used stainless set screw barrel spacers.
I also used thick fender washers where the strikers attach to the frame to better support them.
They really work a lot better than I had expected and they look far more finished than with the Wisheee Washer Method!
For my driving session, I raised my rev limiter from 4,000 to 4,200 RPM and logged 5-7 more test miles.
If any of you are running an HEI distributor, you may want to install one of these units from MSD:
https://www.holley.com/products/igni...s/parts/8727CT
This Sucker Works Great & Flashes Your Highest RPM For About A Minute Or Two At The End Of Each Driving Session!
