Background
I figure that everybody likes to hear a story about these types of cars so here I go. I originally purchased this kit back in 1999 when I owned a used car lot with my father and we were going to build this for ourselves. We bought a 1992 Mustang with 68,000 miles, used just the engine, transmission, pedal box for the build, and sold the rest of it off. We got about 75% of the car done when I got a job with Ford Motor Company as an engine engineer and the car put on hold for a long time (got married, built two houses, had a boy, got two degrees, etc.) We made an attempt in 2013 to finish the car after my dad past away but I had just lost interest in the car. A few years ago some friends volunteered to help finish the car. I am very fortunate to have many very talented friends that include the team that restored an original Ford GT40 for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum. They helped me put in the Ron Francis wiring, bended the new stainless brake lines, and mounted the seats and various other miscellaneous items. Since I also used to racecars professionally for Jack Roush I worked with them to blueprint the new Holley 650 vacuum secondary carb and develop a timing curve for the Mallory distributor.
This car is mechanically very good but does need some finishing from sitting around for almost 20 years. The paint is 1999 Chrome yellow and it has been clear coated but not wet sanded and has a scratch in the RH front fender above the tire. The frame is also rusty in spots where the jack and jack stands have been. The oil temp gage is not hooked up, oil pressure sender needs to be changed and the gas gauge stopped working for some reason recently.
The car will come with a stack of all the receipts since the beginning and the original build manual.
Unfortunately, I have lost interest in this car a long time ago and since I work for Ford Performance now I get to drive a lot of other fast and cool cars so as a result this one sits.
