Steam might work? I can't think of a better way to loosen the glue.
Steam if you can get a heavy duty steamer, if you don't care about salvaging the carpet a heat gun is fine.
Before installation, I started off testing the adhesive quality of Super 77 with the supplied carpet. Used a small piece of carpet and some scrap aluminum. With no assistance of steam, while pulling it off the aluminum, it destroyed the carpet. Pulled the carpet nap out of the backing. Maybe steam and a scrapper, it might work. Good luck!
