Wish I could do this, but just return from Vegas two weeks before this cool event. And in between the fun stuff (like my upcoming trip to California and Vegas) I need to work a little to make some money. Oh well.

What do I do best ? Wrench the metric bolts because I am German.

    All those selected HAVE FUN!!!

That sounds like an awesome adventure. I wouldn't qualify because: 1 - After following FFR for 11 years, I still haven't been able to buy a kit, and 2: I'm out of the country currently. However, I do have a favor to ask. Dave, can you please post the episode or a link to it on the FFR website that can be viewed overseas? I am in Indonesia till March, and almost none of the tv shows can be watched over here due to copyright restrictions. But I don't want to miss this!

    Thanks!

Any way to get a confirmation of entry being received by Factory Five Racing? The large file service reply's with an email, but is there or will there be a way to know for sure that it was received and can be viewed?

Guys, I just spoke to Dave Smith and he wanted me to let you know that he wanted to take the time to go through each video and watch it as promised even though some came at or after the deadline. He's working with the producer to conclude the casting call by tomorrow and he'll let us all know the results.

    Hey guys,

I have spoken to the producers after we reviewed all of the applications. The final East and West Coast teams have been selected and I will be calling people today and tomorrow to let them know. We had some really great and really funny video submissions and picking these teams was a big challenge. I should be able to announce both teams in a day or two, but I would like to contact each person myself first.

Thank you to everyone who participated and this will be a very fun project.

I will be sitting by the phone awaiting the news! I found that creating the video was one challenge and sending it was another, I should have just asked my kids to do it for me.
I goggled the show and found an unofficial site with some great video clips of the inner workings of the show and a tour of the workshop. It appears to be well equipped with everything needed to add some extra touches to the kit. Can't wait to see what skills are brought to the east & west coast teams, hopefully they will not just be adding some Bling! A 72 hour build seams a natural opportunity for an energy drink sponsor! I say Red Bull and Vodka!

That's not correct. You have to have previous FFR building experience, and it wasn't limited to '33 builders.

    HTH,

Yes Dave, that's what I was originally told too. I heard otherwise today, but maybe I should suspect road apples????

No one is 100% locked in yet. Dave now told me tomorrow around noon. They also have to do background checks on evryone once the finalists are decided. Hoping the filmng is at least 200 yards from playgrounds!

As far as what Brian posted, it is true that to apply one must only have either owned or presently own a FFR vehicle, but when it comes to building a hotrod in 72 hours, having someone on the team with experience in building a FFR hotrod you must agree, carrys a bit more weight. Plus the producers cut back the number of people on each team than what I was originally told.

The process has been a tad frustrating, but then I put myself in the producers shoes and I guess it's understandable. Hardly Mendeola at this point, but teams have been selected and should finally be approved today. Sally here at FFR will send out email confirms and regrets to everyone who applied. I'm going to have to get a ton of details square between now and November filming. More shortly...

Henry, Learned my lesson last time I did that (had to eat a dog turd to get the taste outta my mouth) however, I'm sure by the end of filming I will have done something that will have to be censored. ......BTW, like your car , love the Flat Head. Very nice job...da Bat

How come no posts? Are you still reading the FFR 33 Build manual or are you the shy type? If you have any questions we will be glad to answer them before the clock starts!

If they are trying to fly under the radar with no communication to maybe catch us off guard they are doing an impressive job that's for sure! Sounds like the production company has still not secured flights for them but from what I've seen, all the paperwork people are college kids and they are all spread out. I'm sure it will all come together last minute. That's Hollywood...or Northridge for that matter. I just pinged Stack and told him to get on here and get some smack talk going. Hopefully it will start to heat up here soon. I only hope we get to have some beers together before they fly back.

I had a chance to speak with East Coast Team leader Mark D. and he is flying out today or tomorrow to QC parts and make sure all is in line on the mechanicals as Jeff did on the bodywork side. I'll call the crew today and see where they are for flights, hotels and all. We will definitely have time for beers at the conclusion and I will be buying.
