    Factory Five Name

So I went to the Beaches cruise in at P.I.R. today with my mkII. It was the first show of any kind I've ever been to.

I saw an original 289 there and was checking it out quite a bit. Some other people were checking it out also. I started chatting with 1 of the other lookers and it came up that I had a replica and that my replica was a factory five. The other guy seemed to know quite a bit about them and told me that Factory Five Racing was named after the 5 original daytona coupes left (2 have crashed). Since I didn't know how FFR came up with their name I just nodded in agreement.

So my question is why was the name Factory Five Racing chosen? Is there a story behind the name? Was this guy correct or just blowing smoke up my rear end?
