steelies or wires

I know the majority will run with the FIA wheels
But This car would look sick with a set of steelies
or maybe Dayton wires with the knockoffs.

Mark, how much of a stretch do you think it would be to go to slabside from FIA? I'm just talking about the body, not going back to transverse leaf springs...(EDIT: I guess the 289's were transverse leaf spring cars... Interesting. I wonder how accurate the new car will be concerning THAT feature!)

Wire wheels look killer on the slabside! I even have a friend who has a few 260's sitting around...

When I was a kid, one of Pop's friends raced motorcycles locally, usually tuned Honda 305 stuff. Dis guy built a sidecar rig with one of his tuned twins and a sticky rear tire. He went to give it a bit of a test in the street, revved it up, dropped the clutch and, wait for it-- stripped all of the spokes right out of the hub.

Wires would sure look good, but I just can't dodge the mental image of that hub resting on the rim!

Strangely enough, the rims used in the day were a Dunlop alloy rim similar to those used on Jaguars. In some photos the resolution isn't great and it's difficult to distinguish the two.

If youre going to build an FIA, you need to go with the FIA styled wheels fitted with Goodyear billboard tires
