Erik, Great Job!! Love the aviaton theme going on with the interior. I might have missed it, but what aircraft did you get that joystick from? Really love the sidepipes! Erik, you could probably sell them, or maybe have plans on how to make them. Keep up the great work!

Welp. My wife says I always act cranky at this part of the build.... finishing up.... seems like things have to be done 3 and 4 times since I am finishing some areas... but this car seems to want to fight me a little at each turn...I got a slight cold so my mood was a little off....finally got the gas level to read out on the AIM dash only to notice that now my water temp was reading 256 with engine off and no coolant....no coolant cause my radiator had a crack in the weld...another story... well decide I must have a break in the wire going to ECU so I have to break open the nice wire loom I made.... only to find out that ... all the wires are good...but my gauge is still off..... so Wayne (who picks up the phone for me without any grief ) asks me if I have plugged in the OBD II reader? I hadn't of course... and sure enough there is a code for temp sensor out of limits....clear the code... look at that water temp reads ambient!! good think I broke open the engine harness .... rrrrr.... Then I needed to order wheel spacers.... Gen 3's running FFR 18 inch wheels....need at least 1 inch wheel spacers... so.. I figure I will bolt those on... nope... now my lug nuts are too long..... rrrrr....

So you see.... I am not a machine! I am just a man.... I struggle with the same stuff everybody else does.... only thing that helps is the "wayne method" is what I call it.... if you can't solve something right away....do something else! then come back to it....when the solution presents itself.... that and NO SLEEP and worry about EVERYTHING ....lol.....

Even with all this... I did manage to plumb the water lines all the way back to AC/HEAT, route the defrost hose to the dash area, completely wire up the AC/HEAT with AC demand wired into the Ford ECU , installed about 70% of the sound insulation and about 50% of the carpet. Going slow there as I am trying to make the tunnel top removable for service later if needed.... but still make it look like it isn't removable...

I will hopefully get the AC lines run to front of the car this week and that will allow me to seal up the tunnel and finish the carpet. Then about a dozen things that need some final adjustments (new steering wheel with quick release) and we wait for paint.

anyway.... here is the part that is done, done..

Closing in on being "done" I suppose.... today was relatively a light day.... waiting on some small parts.... the "to do " list is pretty small... will knock a few of them of in the morning.... thought I would run the camera around the car so you can see it before it gets covered.... looks pretty good uncovered if you ask me

    anyway... here ya go...

Boy that looks like a tight fit, great job! Are you going to run blankets on the exhaust housings, or possible ceramic coating? Any idea when you're going to try the dyno again?

I have never really seen the inside of one of these. How is the underside of the body finished within the cockpit? Do you have a headliner? Is it a finished look or just the fiberglass?

Tight..... EXTREMELY tight.... it took a solid month to figure out how to get this all to fit and keep my OCD in check and have everything look symmetrical or at least close and not look like I threw it all in there.... and still leave room for things that that I did not have yet...like the front dress....which I hope fits when I get it!.... The TUBROs will get some DEI blankets... but I want to get some more time on the dyno to make sure they are not leaking first.... not sure on the dyno yet... the body and the dyno are about 5 hours away and I would prefer to do 1 trip and dyno and pick up body in one shot.... so this too must wait

I think I have the underside shot on the first or second page of the thread.... the bottom is all powdercoated and/or painted (base/clear). The headliner is raw fiberglass, but factory 5 supplies material to glue in.....but of course....not using that either since I have something special in mind for that too....lol...

I can't wait to see this thing done Erik!

I was thinking about making a TT setup and all that would entail, where stuff would sit, just "dreaming" about it if you will
Then I noticed the start of this build thread. It's been very informative and entertaining to see your process to getting this done. some neat ideas I haven't thought about. I hope to have something that will compete with yours eventually! it's been a puzzle on my end trying to figure where stuff will go (IE: intercoolers, and AC) without actually having anything in front of me besides sketches.

Keep up the stellar work! I am going to continue to reference this build log and the 48FFR from John George for a long while!

I have thought about the same thing but want to see how these Beta builds play out. After seeing how tight the fit is on Erik's with a Coyote and twins, I think I would instead lean towards doing a Dart 331-363 with twins and an auto trans like my roadster.

I'm still just watching for now.

Not taking even a tiny thing away from Eric and his car but, you guys are aware of the Ford super charger available for the Coyote right? 600+HP in a pretty compact package. Maybe smaller than a TT setup.

    Erik-

She looks awesome and mean!! I know I have said it before, but you have mad build skills!

I know your paint is secret noforn, but can you share anything about it?

I also can't wait to see the HP and torque numbers when you and Wayne are through with it. You have a very impressive setup, that I think is going to be crazy fast.

Awesome job Erik, I am really looking forward to seeing her all wrapped up!

    Regards,

    Steve

Sorry if I missed it earlier in the thread but did you end up making the cyclic stick buttons functional?
If so a descriptive video of what they do would be awesome.

Eric did FFR move the wiper motor location to in front of the fire wall on the gen3 or did you modify the fire wall location?

    A couple more updates...

After a couple failed attempts to get the stock AC unit to work with the forward facing headers...I ended up buying the Coyote March front dress setup....it was expensive, but the engineering I didn't need to do was worth it.... so as of today we have power steering... still need a few hoses to hook up the AC... but should be relatively easy I hope.

I also got a new steering wheel with quick release from Wayne (VCP), I really like it! and with the power steering... it is slick.

Additionally with all this functionality added, I also added some more theme details.... Blackhawks have First Aid Kits behind each pilot.... so.......oh ... I also color matched the battery to the outside of the car....

Also since I have the AC/Heat in the back and I ran out of room in the tunnel.... one defrost hose goes to the front and gets split into a fiberglass duct I made....so that left me with one hose to either cap off or....... I cut a slit in the rear trunk panel and faced the rear defrost duct up at the rear glass and then narrowed hose to balance the air between the front and rear of the car....you can just see the slot here....
