Been a bit quite here lately. Spent the day cleaning up, nut and bolt alignment/scale and prepping for the West track SCCA event on the 2nd and Full track Chin event on the 9th. I won't be lazy and get a camera installed.

SCCA KY region is hosting a Time Trials event on Saturday, I am running the Unlimited 1 class. The KY and TN regions are Autocross regions and this is the first time the region has hosted a road course event so wanted to support it. Indy and Cincinnati regions have hosted race events here but sadly their road race programs have been struggling some. I haven't gotten a clarity yet like I have with NASA (ST2) but have been told I can run in Super Production in regional events.
We are hosting the Time Trial Nationals here in the fall, so this is a preview. Should be fun plus we have the Ultimate Street Car Challenge here this weekend on the Skid pad Saturday and on track on Sunday.

Nice job! car looks fantastic. If it runs half as good as it looks you should be fine.

Mitch, what are the specs on the rims / tires you are running? I might like a set for my R.

The tires are BFG R1S’s 215/40X17 frt 245/40X18 rear
    TSW 17X8 40mm offset front
    Enkei 18X9.5 40mm offset rear
Enkei offers 38 and 35mm offsets
Bought the 4 TSW’s used for a great price but couldn’t get the matching rears with the width and offset

Do you run any wheel spacers to clear the calipers?

Don't need to but I do have 15mm spacers on the rear for wheel/tire clearance for the rear trailing arms.

Mitch, I can't find BFG R1S's in 215/40X17. Where did you get them?

BFG has revised race tire offerings, PTS is the only place I have found them. I have used the R1's on a number of projects and really like them, great grip and they heat cycle well. Michelin is one of our track sponsors so I try to stay in the family.

The Time trial event was a fun event with a good number of first time on the track drivers, which is great to see. I did win my class Unlimited 1 and 2nd fast time but I am ashamed to say I got beat by a Miata!!!
It was a 500hp LS6 powered Miata with 12" wide wheels 315 tires and more aero than a DTM car. We went back and forth for TTD, the last session of the day he got in a good lap and had me by a second. Oh well fun was had by all.

Finally put a camera on the car for a couple of sessions on our West track during the SCCA Time Trial event. Need to figure out how to rotate the second video. You can get a quick look at the LS powered Miata in the second video.

Ha ha, got to watch out for those LS powered Miatas, they can sure surprise you. Flyin' Miata is based out of Colorado and are probably best know for the LS swaps they do so there are more then a few that prowl the tracks around here. Miatas coming up on you in a turn is nothing unusual, however, one ripping by you on a strait sure catches you off guard at first.

For a while there was a show on that raced import cars against American muscle around a track. The idea is you showed up with your import, raced around a track, then the top times got to race a few different American muscle cars that had been hopped up. I think a stand up comedian hosted the show. Anyways, they had a LS Miata come on the track one time and blow away the competition but they herd the engine and checked under the hood and ended up DQing the car because it has an LS6. If I remember right, it has multiple seconds over the second place car.
