Hey there - What came in your manilla envelope? Mine was sort of shredded from UPS and only had a brass breather valve in it. Did you get anything else from Moser? I want to make sure I'm not missing parts.
Looking at the picture of the differential it has a late model (2015 I believe ) flange on it. These flanges take a shaft with a rubber coupler at the end. My differential is the same, my question for anyone that knows is do we change it out for the older style flange? I assume that the driveshaft included in the kit is designed for the flat 8 bolt flange not the newer six bolt.

You will use an adapter like on the IRS, The flange stays intact on the diff, and the driveshaft is the similar as used on older mustangs, It is a four bolt flange on the driveshaft. It may be the same driveshaft flange as older Mustangs, I have not compared the two side by side. But it looks the same.
FFinisher, so did this "adapter" come with your kit? What does it look like? I am familiar with the procedure as on my old 3.1 roadster (solid axle), but this discussion is foreign to me. From your comment, I gather there is some type of adapter that connects the old style driveshaft (provided with kit) and the newer style rear axle. Is that correct?
Ralph
It is a round steel adapter that bolts to the flange on the axle, then has a bolt pattern that matches the driveshaft. Yes the adapter and the bolts come in the kit.
You have to close the [IMG tag with a ] and then start the /img] tag with a [. You also only need the URL for the image and not the <img tags or the closing />.
Just put the [ IMG ] and [ /IMG] tags around it. (No spaces in the tags... I did that so they will show up.) You might have to "Go Advanced" and then hit "Preview Post" a few times until you get it right. But after that first time of getting it you will never have a problem again. It also helps that most forums work the same way.
Contacted by Jolene at Stewart! I'm on the truck -BUT- last off. I'll take that. ALLEN the driver says here by 6/18. A Monday. A great way to start the week!

Arrived Saturday at 6pm. Two days early! Missing 6 or so boxes, that the driver has checked off. Hmmm...
Will start inventory Monday June 18th. Anyone in the area is welcome to drop by.
In case you were wondering... Missing 5 boxes that were marked on the truck. Missing key components as backordered.
Can't start the front suspension missing the spindles and brakes.
Can't start the shocks. Missing threaded shock body part
Can't start rear suspension, missing those parts.
Heavy sigh. No update on backorder or missing boxes yet from FFR
Ken I can tell you from experience this is not out of the ordinary for a new kit from FFR. One of the things that go with these kits is back ordered items. FFR wishes they could send everything the first time. It eats into their profit margin having to ship all these POL parts. They are at the mercy of their suppliers. I understand how irritating it can be, but patience is one of the keys to building a kit car. Paint and do what you can by skipping around. Pre-drilling aluminum is a good way to get stuff done ahead of time. TW
All parts in raw steel and suspension that I have are painted. Suspension in two coats. I used Eastwood rust inhibitor first then Eastwood 2K Rat Rod Black Satin. Matches the black satin of the chassis exactly. Looks like they were powder coated! Awesome.
Looks great! Some early morning on the weekend I’d like to take my Mk1 over to check out your progress. Weather is always an issue as you know this time of year.

today would have worked! Next weekend, I'll be in Columbus Oh for the Good Guys show there. Drop by early evening too if you wish. I think you have my cell number. Not much to show yet, missing key parts for lots of the kit. But you can look and see how it starts out....
Ken, I can identify with your post of missing boxes and items. It seems to match the same things missing in my shipment. When you have a critical part missing that is needed to start each major area of assembly, I guess you can always sand fiberglass.
I got parts for rear brakes so that is completed and the new diff cover installed. I had to grind the inside of the cast diff cover (aluminum) to fit over the internal bosses. No biggie, but not expected. https://photos.app.goo.gl/1YrKRAMWe8uREtWJ7
Note the front driver side shock. It is not plated correctly. I have a call in to FFR to find out what to do about it.

Got parts in the last two weeks. Finished the front suspension, Steering rack installed, Rear brakes, and Rear suspension completed. Yesterday finished the peddle box. Ordered Tires and rims from Coker.
Engine done except for accessory drives. Got my T5, Bell housing, hydraulic clutch.
Thinking i might work on the gas tank tomorrow just to get a big box out of the way.
Once tires are on, I'm boost the truck into the air and do the emergency brake and hydraulic brake lines.
Have a question on rear brake. Have a 33' on way and had hoped to get it this week. Now Fri no call, no car. Maybe next week. Question,,, I have a 96' 8.8 rear end and have gone over it and all looks good. Cleaned up and painted with new calipers etc... But now I am hearing the calipers need to be on FRONT side of axle, not REAR where they are now. For parking brake install ????? I notice Your calipers on on front side, may be this is true???? I can change over, saw video on this, but prefer to leave them as is..... Oh what to do..... Thx
