    Replacing wheel studs

    I am using 25 mm Eibach spacers (90.4.25.010.3) on the rear hubs with the IRS. I was planning not to change the bolts on the hub but use the original Ford ones. The less I do, the less can go wrong.

    I will then need some Mustang lug nuts that will fit the spacer. Does anyone know the thread size?

    The 2015+ Mustang studs are 14mm x 1.50. It's kind of a mixed bag though. The Eibach 90.4.25.010.3 spacers come with previous Mustang 1/2 x 20 studs and nuts to bolt onto your hubs. So you'll obviously need 14mm x 1.50 nuts to retain the stock metric studs. But the nuts that come with the Eibach spacers are not exactly like standard lug nuts. They're lower profile. I thought about mixing and matching like this on mine, but decided it was simpler just to replace the studs. It's not that hard.

    My idea did not work. I ordered a set M14 1,5 Ford Performance Parts Wheel Nuts, M-1012-N. The nuts came out approx. 5 mm above the wheel-mounting flange of the spacer. Consequently, I was not able to install the wheels. Replacing the studs worked like a charm.

    I used the ones that came with the kit as described in the manual

    I wanted to use the original studs, M14, as delivered on the hubs. When I used appropriate Ford nuts the nuts themselves came outside the mounting surface for the wheel on the spacer. I replaced the studs on the hubs with the ones that came with the kit. They had to be shortened by approximately 15 -20 mm. Installing the brake rotor and spacer with the supplied nuts made a perfect fit. The wheels uses the studs installed on the spacer. The spacers need to be used to clear the rear Wilwood calipers and 17" wheels

    Sorry I have to clear up some confusion I have.

    1a. The studs that come with the wilwood rotors, do those have to be trimmed or replaced with shorter studs?
    1b. If they do need to be replaced what is the appropriate size

    2. I understand that the newer mustangs and now consequently the FFR cars come with a metric stud. With regard to the EBtech spacer listed above which comes with a standard thread my understanding is you opted to keep the 1/2” thread. So the front and rear of your car have different size lug nuts?

    3. Looking at the Eibach spacer I can see what Edwardb is talking about that they came with a low profile lug nut, did you keep or replace the lug nuts it came with?

    My main concern is #1 I don’t care if I have different size lug nuts and studs and long as it’s safe. Links or pics would be appreciated

    You will then end up with different front and rear studs. Eibach 90.4.25.010.3 are similar but with the 1/2" studs as used on the front. Most likely also on sale

    I found two pictures. One with the hub with the M14 studs and one with some of the shortend 1/2" stus installed, no nuts, brake disc and the spacer

    Sorry it’s not specified in the manual but I am assuming that the front FFR supplied 1/2” studs and that page 119 of the manual is removing the stock metric studs and replacing the with 1/2” studs is that correct?

    Speedway says they include shorter 1/2” studs for the rotors. Hopefully everything marries together nicely.

    The kit didn’t come with the shortened studs. Speedway was kind enough to offer a credit toward shorter studs. I found these

    If you can get the shorter studs included with the wheel spacers, and you haven't already changed to the kit provided SAE studs. Should work. Otherwise, a cut-off wheel makes short work of the kit provided studs once they're installed. Simple fix.
