Hey guys, so I drove my car a few miles and the rear tires are rubbing when I hit a bump. I have the supplied rear Konis and supplied spring. Seems like I may need to change the spring to a tad bit taller and adjust with the collar if needed? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

Few things:
1) If you're going to continue running the Konis in the rear, make sure the spring clip that holds the spring base is slid up to the 2nd grove on the shock housing and not on the bottom. this will give you a little more adjustment on the coils
2) Use the lower shock hole in the frame which will give you an additional 1"
3) Add a 2nd bump stop to the shock shaft and it should eliminate your rubbing issue.
Personally, I was not happy with the feel of the Konis, as well as I wasn't happy with how the spring base on the Konis is not fixed so it spins when adjusting the coil collar (PITA to adjust). I switched to QA1 Proma Star Dual Adjustable Coil over Shocks on mine, the ride is so much better. I also went with a 12" 300# spring with the QA1s.
Thank you for your replies. Very helpful. Big Time. Maybe I will just purchase some QA1's. Where can I get it and what should I get for the back and fronts. I totally forget the dimensions of the front Konis and rear. I will check the manual. Thanks

Hey Scott
Here's the combos that worked for me (Ordered from summit racing)
* Front = QA1 DD403 Proma Star Double Adjustable coil over shocks with 9" long 300# springs
* Rear = QA1 DS601 Proma Star single Adjustable coil over shocks with 12" long 300# springs
Summit has pretty much any spring length and weight rating you prefer.

Hey Jim, I couldnt open the link that you used the shorter bump stop on the front. It just says error. Could you try that again or maybe a part number? That would be awesome. Thanks

Hey Scott
Try this link, if that does work then the part number is QA1-BC02
On my gen I full fendered I ended up welding an extension on the axle bracket and added another shock mounting hole 1 1/2" above the existing. With this I had enough shock adjustment to give fender clearance.
I dont have any other holes for upper or lower shock mount on the rear. Suggestions? IF I used upper hole(s) for the rear control arm would that make a difference? Thanks

Looks like Gen1 frames didn't have the dual holes like the Gen2 frames do. That's too bad. You could do what Kamp did and weld in an extension on the axle bracket.
Your coils are really cranked up aren't they? I would start with two things:
1) Add a 2nd bump stop to your shocks. The purpose of the bump stop(s) is to prevent bottoming out, cranking the coil spring up just stiffens the ride, doesn't guarantee eliminating bottoming out.
2) Either switch to the QA1 shocks / coils we discussed above in this string or try 10" 300# springs on your koni shocks
